We firmly believe there is a fundamental relationship between work and wellness. It is a principle that guides us in the development and dispensing of our services. Human beings have a fundamental need to be productive. In fact, an individual's happiness and satisfaction is rooted in their need to feel useful and to flourish by developing their abilities and making a personal contribution to society. Work is an excellent way to satisfy this basic need because it leads to security, social integration, recognition, pride and self-esteem. Work stimulates motivation and allows individuals to apply their talents and develop their skills.
When a person is no longer able to demonstrate their capabilities and achieve their aspirations due to personal or professional circumstances, that person's natural balance may be disturbed. This often leads to deterioration in their well-being that could lead to partial or total incapacity.
Individuals who experience a change in their physical or psychological well-being still have the same fundamental needs — the need to feel productive and fulfilled. They are, after all, still human. Individuals with either chronic or occasional health problems still need motivation and opportunities for fulfillment, which are normally provided through work. Work is therefore an essential factor in promoting their recovery.
