Short-Term Reintegration Program Transition is a counselling program aimed at providing short-term reintegration services for short-term disability claimants who are off work due to a psychological problem (e.g. depression, anxiety disorders, grief, adjustment disorder, conflict in the workplace, personal problems, etc.). The goal of the service is to take prompt measures to aid in the person's recovery, help prevent a deterioration in the individual's condition, promote a return to work in the short term, and facilitate reintegration based on the individual's state of health and the demands of the work environment.

The insurer provides the insured with a clinical counsellor (psychologist or social worker) as well as an employment counsellor. In cooperation with the attending physician, and with other health care specialists, where applicable, these professionals work to ease the person's transition back to health and back into the workplace by reconciling the employee's needs with those of the employer using a return to work schedule approved by the physician.

The program provides 20 hours of counselling divided between psychotherapy and support services for returning to work, based on a customized intervention plan designed to promote a successful return to work within 10 weeks.

These services are available to insureds based on the criteria defined by our insurer-clients' disability claims managers and case managers.
